Bug #: 29241 Summary: Miranda IM crashes at startup, is unuseable Product: Wine Version: 1.3.34 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: xor@gmx.li Classification: Unclassified
- Using Kubuntu 10.04 x64 - Wine 1.3.34 from apt package source "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-wine/ppa/ubuntu lucid main"
Miranda has been working fine with the previous Wine versions. I've updated to 1.3.34 yesterday and now Miranda won't start, always crashes immediately.
I've deleted my ~/.wine directory, the problem still happens.
Here's what shows up when I start Miranda in a terminal:

--- Comment #4 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2011-12-04 10:46:02 CST --- I can't reproduce this with current miranda (0.9.37) and wine-1.3.24. Please try the new miranda.

--- Comment #5 from Jerome Leclanche adys.wh@gmail.com 2011-12-04 10:48:37 CST --- Dan, do you mean .34?
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29241
--- Comment #6 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2011-12-04 10:56:52 CST --- Whoops, yes, I meant current wine, 1.3.34.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29241
--- Comment #7 from xor@gmx.li 2011-12-04 11:35:20 CST --- Also happens with current Miranda: http://miranda.googlecode.com/files/miranda-im-v0.9.37-unicode.7z
Isn't there anything else which can be done before I really have to compile wine on my own to do a regression test? You've got the address where the exception is thrown, that could reveal the reason, coulnd't it?

--- Comment #8 from Jerome Leclanche adys.wh@gmail.com 2011-12-04 11:37:38 CST --- There is no backtrace, no debug modules; regression tests are pretty simple, if you want the bug fixed it's the easiest way.

--- Comment #10 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net 2011-12-22 10:16:16 CST --- Hello,
like the others - can't reproduce either. Remove ~/.wine again and run:
$ WINEDEBUG=+tid,+seh,+relay wine ./miranda32.exe >>log.txt 2>&1
and attach the compressed log file to this bug.
$ wine --version wine-1.3.35-117-g27e3e1a
