No special channels, just the regular output will do for now, thanks.

--- Comment #6 from Béla Gyebrószki gyebro69@gmail.com --- You can reproduce the problem with the demo version as well.
Start the demo with 'Summoner Demo.exe', in the launcher click on <Detect available cards> button. When autodetection is finished and a 3D capable gfx card is selected click on <Play> in the launcher to receive the error message.

You can reproduce the problem with the demo version as well.
OK. It seems to be creating a D3D device successfully, so I'm not sure what its problem is. It might not like what it gets for device capabilities.
For what it's worth, it's the same with the X11 driver as with the Mac driver.

--- Comment #10 from Louis Lenders xerox_xerox2000@yahoo.co.uk --- Still present in current wine, but in Staging it does start for me when using
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 /opt/wine-staging/bin/wine Summoner\ Demo.exe
Maybe the LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 is not needed when you have a decent graphics card (i have cheap onboard integrated card). Maybe this should be marked as fixed in Staging, when others can reproduce it running

Although the bug reports refer to the same Wine-Staging "topic" patchset, each game is fixed by a different patch:
https://github.com/wine-staging/wine-staging/blob/master/patches/ddraw-Devic...
--- quote --- Fixes: [37019] Don't set HWTRANSFORMANDLIGHT flag on d3d7 RGB device Fixes: [27002] Properly initialize caps->dwZBufferBitDepths in ddraw7_GetCaps --- quote ---
The patches were originally split apart and then merged under same topic.

--- Comment #18 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
this was fixed by commit https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/6c391ac139f90549f068ea2139... ("ddraw: Don't report unsupported device capabilities in d3d7_EnumDevices()."), part of Wine 7.16 release.
Thanks Zhiyi. Thanks joaopa for the reminder.
Refining the summary because the commit mentions a different game.
