--- Comment #1 from scguy318 nodisgod@yahoo.com 2008-02-13 22:15:25 --- Could you please pastebin any relevant terminal messages in plain text? Is the "Find tab did not" the entirety of the error message?

--- Comment #2 from Charlie eplurib@earthlink.net 2008-02-14 09:32:23 --- Created an attachment (id=10765) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=10765) Delorme start terminal output under WINE 0.9.55
2/14/2008 This is the output from the console terminal showing the start method. The start path method was the same as used in the desktop Icon properties command box. The output includes my starting the Delorme map program, selecting a search, and doing a search. Then closing Delorme.
None of the messages are related to the search or to the closing.They all occur on start.
Thanks for your help. I'll be glad to supply any additional info.

--- Comment #3 from Charlie eplurib@earthlink.net 2008-02-14 09:39:08 --- 2/14/2008
Question asked:
Is the "Find tab did not" the entirety of the error message?
Answer:
Yes, this is the only text displayed.
The entire message really is: "Find tab did not initialize (ISO Error)".
Thanks, Charlie Morrison

--- Comment #4 from scguy318 nodisgod@yahoo.com 2008-02-14 11:27:58 --- Might be an OLE issue from the looks of it, try running the application with:
WINEDEBUG=+ole wine "C:\Program Files\DeLorme\Street Atlas USA 2006 Plus\SA2006+.exe"
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11577
--- Comment #5 from scguy318 nodisgod@yahoo.com 2008-02-14 11:32:48 --- I retract my prior comment, according to this link (http://www.delorme.com/support/supporttemplate.aspx?id=256), you may need to install the native ODBC components by using the winetricks script (http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks).
You'll want to invoke the script after downloading like this:
sh winetricks mdac28
Then try the application again.

--- Comment #6 from scguy318 nodisgod@yahoo.com 2008-02-14 11:38:04 --- And I'm spamming, but amend the command I previously mentioned to:
sh winetricks mdac28 jet40
This is of course assuming that winetricks is inside the working directory of your shell.

--- Comment #7 from Charlie eplurib@earthlink.net 2008-02-14 12:14:21 --- Created an attachment (id=10767) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=10767) debug output, beginning of log
2/14/2008 I used the command:
WINEDEBUG=+ole wine "C:\Program Files\DeLorme\Street Atlas USA 2006 Plus\SA2006+.exe" 2> delorme.txt
Started Delorme and then closed it. The file was too large to fit on the console terminal window, so I saved it to a file (attached). I broke it into 2 files because of the file size. The tail end of the file is the second file.
Thanks again,
Charlie Morrison

--- Comment #8 from Charlie eplurib@earthlink.net 2008-02-14 12:16:49 --- Created an attachment (id=10768) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=10768) debug output, file 2
2/14/2008
started with:
WINEDEBUG=+ole wine "C:\Program Files\DeLorme\Street Atlas USA 2006 Plus\SA2006+.exe" 2> delorme
Broke into 2 files due to WINEHQ size limit.
This is file 2 of 2 of the debug output.

--- Comment #10 from scguy318 nodisgod@yahoo.com 2008-02-14 16:26:30 --- Did the MDAC installation succeed? Perhaps you need to remove ~/.wine, run winetricks (sh winetricks mdac28 jet40) then install Street Atlas?

This is a jpeg screenshot of the first lock up of the install of Delorme 2006 Plus after installing mdac and jet using winetricks.

This is the second lock up of the Delorme 2006 Plus install after installing mdac and jet using winetricks. This is the result of clicking the debug from the first screenshot.
After this, I used the Kubuntu 7.10 repository to install JIT and JIT debug and then retry.

--- Comment #13 from Charlie eplurib@earthlink.net 2008-02-20 08:50:07 --- Created an attachment (id=10865) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=10865) Console output installing mdac,jet, and Delorme
This is the entire console output from the installation attempt using winetricks to install mdac28 and jet40, installation attempt of Delorme 2006 Plus, installing JIT and JIT debug from kubuntu 7.10 repositories, and then attempting to continue the Delorme install. Install hung. A control C at console allowed the install to continue until reaching "Product Registration" which then hung again, without redrawing the Product Registration window (console output filled window). Issuing another control C did kill the console output and return it to a command line, but did not kill the Delorme install window. The Delorme install window would not close.

--- Comment #17 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2009-05-29 19:01:12 --- Bugs marked "HP, Linux" probably should have been marked "PC, Linux" as HP really is for HP's HP-PA or Itanium systems, and very few people have those.
