Summary: Lego Racers crashes with quartz (avispliter, pullpin) induced crash Product: Wine Version: 0.9.59. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: quartz AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: echidnaman@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=12337) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=12337) Error log
Upon startup, Lego Racers crashes when the "Lego Media" avi is supposed to be played. This does not occur with the demo. I tested this with a vanilla .wine folder, so there has been no chance for a native quartz.dll file to mess up the registry.
I believe this is a regression, probably to be blamed on Maarten Lankhorst's recent quartz improvements. :P I don't have the resources to perform a regression test, nor did I test this game with the previous version, so I don't know if the app broke then or now.

--- Comment #8 from Dr. Anonymous dr_anonymous@freemail.hu 2010-01-09 13:20:47 --- got working the game: make a new profile for it in the winecfg, and set the virtual desktop resolution to 640*480 plus add the -novideo tag to the end of the command
cd "/***WhereYouInstalledTheGame***/" wine LegoRacer.exe -novideo

--- Comment #9 from A Wine user RandomAccountName@mail.com 2010-11-17 12:25:22 CST --- In wine-1.3.7-144-gd7a0284, I get "fatal error: unable to set message drain" but not a real crash. Still needs -novideo parameter to start the game.
It tries to use gstreamer before that, so someone with the 32-bit gstreamer plugins installed may get a different result.

--- Comment #10 from Bernhard Cygan bernhard.cygan@gmail.com 2013-03-10 17:13:55 CDT --- I can confirm with Wine 1.5.25, that the message "unable to set message drain" occurs. The message disappears when you pass "-novideo". I tried different video sizes, but the game will always just use 640x480.
Apart from that, Lego Racers runs fine so far.
I am attaching the debug log, just in case someone wants to look at stuff.

Adding the -novideo parameter is a workaround.
