--- Comment #2 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-06-24 23:10:56 --- Are you using KDE 3.x? If it happens in Wine 0.9.60, but not in 0.9.59, then it might be bug 12475.

--- Comment #3 from zoby ezoby@click21.com.br 2008-06-26 03:24:34 --- I use KDE 3.5.7, but think that bug is on all. I don't have wine-0.9.59. The bug 12475 don't says if pop up windows accept typing normal or special characters. On bug 13974 only special characters (ç, accent," etc.) are refused. Accent is very important to Portuguese, Spanish, Russian etc.

--- Comment #4 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-06-26 11:45:56 --- The focus issue and the special characters issue are two separate problems. Please file a separate bug for the special characters issue.
For the focus issue, either try to downgrade to Wine 0.9.59 and see if the problem go away, or try Gnome and see if the problem is there as well.

--- Comment #5 from zoby ezoby@click21.com.br 2008-06-27 22:54:09 --- My problem aren't focus. My problem is want of special characters. Perhaps they are the same problem. If I do click on any part of pop up, it accept any character and focus becomes normal. I'm using only KDE and Slackware 12.

--- Comment #6 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-07-01 15:18:33 --- Ok, in that case, let's drop the focus issue.
What locale are you using? How did you set up your keyboard to type special characters?

--- Comment #7 from zoby ezoby@click21.com.br 2008-07-01 23:58:52 --- /etc/X11/xorg.conf “XkbLayout”. “us” “XkbVariant”. “intl”
/etc/gtk-2.0/gtk.immodules cedilla ...... :en:....
Almost any locale own special characters. The bug aren't attached to this. iso8859-1, iso8859-15 etc.

--- Comment #8 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-07-08 18:20:55 --- Curious, you're on Slackware with KDE, why did you configure your keyboard input with gtk and not through KDE's control center?
Two more things: - can you run the "locale" command from a terminal and paste the output? - can you reproduce this problem in wine's notepad?

--- Comment #9 from zoby ezoby@click21.com.br 2008-07-12 14:04:56 --- ~$ locale LANG=pt_BR LC_CTYPE="pt_BR" LC_NUMERIC="pt_BR" LC_TIME="pt_BR" LC_COLLATE=C LC_MONETARY="pt_BR" LC_MESSAGES="pt_BR" LC_PAPER="pt_BR" LC_NAME="pt_BR" LC_ADDRESS="pt_BR" LC_TELEPHONE="pt_BR" LC_MEASUREMENT="pt_BR" LC_IDENTIFICATION="pt_BR" LC_ALL=
But the bug is the same if /etc/profile.d/lang.sh export LANG=en_US or export LANG=pt_BR or LANG=en_US.ISO8859-1 etc.
I can't reproduce the problem now because I has downgraded to wine-0.9.58, which haven't this bug.
But anyone, yourself, can. If using wine > 0.9.60, open a Windows program and a popup window to search, replace or other and type: ç é ö ä or anyone accented letter.

--- Comment #10 from zoby ezoby@click21.com.br 2008-08-09 20:30:58 --- I found that it's only with dead keys. To input accented character in portuguese we press dead_accent and vogal. For instance, dead acute -a = á. Altgr -a or anyother is ok. With wine > 0.60 there are the bug **only on KDE** and dead keys. Likely is bug 12475.
