Created an attachment (id=31750) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=31750) wine output (run mathcad 12)

When I run mcad.exe I get windows with errors description: "unable to create 12.0 engine factory", "failed to create Compute Engine", "unknown error 0x80004005".

Then mathcad shows main program window but I can't compute anything - mathcad's engine don't loaded.

Yes, I tried winetricks for your advice but nothing changed.

You probably need 'winetricks msxml4' then or both. Start with new .wine on each try.

msxml3 and msxml4 are already installed. If msxml4 component doesn't exist in the system, mathcad doesn't even install and start.

msxml3 and msxml4 are already installed. If msxml4 component doesn't exist in the system, mathcad doesn't even install and start.

Wine has its own msxml4, what I'm talking about is native msxml4. If you see any msxml traces in log then native module is not used.

1) If Mathcad installer detects that msxml4 is missing with fresh .wine and recent version like 1.3.6 then a version detection doesn't work for some reason, most likely because of another Wine bug; For that problem open a new report for installer itself as affected application;

2) Attached log shows schemas problem running wine builtin msxml, this is what's this bug about. Install Matchcad with all necessary modules like mdac or native msxml4. Then set msxml4/msxml3/msxml6 to builtin only in winecfg and get a +msxml,+tid log starting matchad (http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log), attach it as a text file.

For this particular bug I'm sure it still doesn't work cause external entities currently suffer from win/nix path problem - libxml2 tries to derive a full path from document base path that we never set cause we're using parsing from memory.

I think I encounter the same bug with Mathcad 14. Steps to reproduce: 1) remove ~/.wine 2) winetricks dotnet20 vcrun2005 corefonts mdac28 3) install MathCAD 14 4) wine mathcad.exe

Behaviour: "Mathcad Application has encountered a problem [...]" and then Wine error

Expected behaviour: No problem.

Workaround: winetricks msxml4

btw. Please change state of this bug from UNCONFIRMED to NEW
