errr... Ok, here's the full log. Anything before X is PlayOnline or fixme's related to FFXI, and shouldn't have any effect related to the minimize crash.
Probably need to dig deeper, I guess?

Sounds like a pulseaudio bug. Can you try disabling it?

I set everything to run trough ALSA, that's the only way to "disable" pulseaudio (as far as I know). I then ran FFXI, minimized it, got the same output, but with some extra info.
I figured that pulseaudio was still running in the background, so I did a forced shutdown of it.. Then I ran FFXI again and minimized, but that only caused wine to crash early (or I was just lucky with my first run).

Then it's not disabled. It's still crashing in pulseaudio.

I have completely removed pulseaudio from the system now (it was a pain in the ass, broke several packages), and there wasn't much of a difference.

Wine can't reset your pc, unless you're running as root.

--- Comment #14 from Thomas tpf80@tpf80.com 2008-12-06 16:31:33 --- with me, 1.1.10 is the same as the previous version. I can minimize if virtual desktop is enabled, and not minimize if virtual desktop is not enabled.

Thought I would just share that the same problem occurs with Arch Linux, the output is the same as with Ubuntu though. No warning what so ever, it just crashes as soon as you hit the minimize button.
If there's some way to debug this, I'm more then happy to preform the required tasks to do so. I'll do some research on my own, but wouldn't mind to be pointed in the right direction if possible.

I did a little debugging, and I noticed wine calls gdi32.SwapBuffers right before it crashes. Could it be that Wine calls the wrong swapbuffer? Maybe it should be OPENGL32.wglSwapBuffers?
Just guessing, as I'm far from a Wine guru ;)
By the way, the original log was over 160MB huge, so I picked the relevant lines...

--- Comment #17 from Fredrick Lockert fredricklockert@gmail.com 2009-02-23 15:25:15 --- Thought I should drop by and inform that this is indeed a bug with nVidia's video drivers. It has been known/confirmed by nVidia since late 2006, and by the looks of it, it hasn't been fixed since then. Several other applications running under Wine has had the same effects, just a little bit different.
This bug will probably be solved by nVidia sometime in the future. I'll set this bug to wontfix, if anyone else has a different opinion, please revert my changes.
