Summary: Regression. Fiesta Online unplayable in wine 1.1.38-39 Product: Wine Version: 1.1.39 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: wine@dezzanet.co.uk
Fiesta Online (available from http://fiesta-online.gamigo.com) was (and still is) playable in at least wine versions 1.1.31-1.1.37. It became unplayable due to very low frame rates as of 1.1.38.
I'm sorry I can't give any more details about the possible cause.

If you install the game to test, it will be noticable at the username/password screen.
The wiki page says to cc the person that uploaded the bad commit, but it doesn't seem to want to let me.

--- Comment #6 from Eric Lanz elanz1615@yahoo.com 2010-04-07 10:09:40 --- The Fallen Earth MMO (instructions to get a free trial: http://forums.fallenearth.com/fallenearth/showthread.php?t=35062) also suffers slowdowns due to this patch, confirmed via regression testing.
The slowdowns appear on all tested nvidia based macbooks (9400m), macbook pro (8800M/GT, 9600M/GT) and imac (9400, 8800GT). Observed on OSX 10.5.8 -> 10.6.3.
Reverting this patch will triple the fps (from ~20 fps -> ~60fps) without causing any observable graphical problems.
I'd also like to note that ATI based IMacs(4850) and macbooks(1600) don't exhibit the same slowdown from this patch.
For now we will keep this patch reverted in our builds but I wanted to add this information here in case it helps anyone else.

--- Comment #7 from Eric Lanz elanz1615@yahoo.com 2010-04-14 12:44:07 --- Henri's commit:
http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commit;h=8eb2a2cf0c50f986cd136af138...
turns off these flush calls by default and adds a registry key (Direct3D:StrictDrawOrdering:enabled|disabled) for applications who need. This solves the performance issue for Fallen Earth.
Thank you.
