Anomaly launches and the main menu works perfectly, however when loading a save file it crashes in the loading screen and wine debugger launches.
Wine versions 7.x and below work perfectly fine only wine 8.x crash in this manner.
I made sure to delete all wineprefixes and .wine folder before running the program.

--- Comment #3 from mythicalnewt@gmail.com --- After some testing and downloading binaries built by arch linux (https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/w/wine/), the latest version of wine that does not have this regression is wine 7.18. 7.2-1 seems to have another bug where the game refuses to launch but that is fixed in 7.2-2 and later builds until 7.19 where the save file bug reappears and is reproducible in wine 8.0, 8.15 and 8.22-2 from my testing.

Sorry, I forgot in todays fresh wineprefix to extract dxvk 2.2 like your logfile indicate to be in use. With that the hang is immediately visible again on loading a save game. (copied dlls into their windows-sysxxxxx folders, started with WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d10core.dll=n;d3d11.dll=n;d3d9.dll=n;dxgi.dll=n" \ wine AnomalyDX11AVX.exe )

This is the terminal log without dxvk. I used a new wineprefix with only d3dcompiler_43 and d3dx11_43 dlls. Game crashes the same like with dxvk. wine version : 8.21

Game crashes the same like with dxvk.
There is some interesting behaviour in the crash that might be noteworthy.
After a few seconds a popup appears reading: "Unhandled exception occured. See log for details"
Upon clicking ok the popup closes and winedebugger opens, but looks like wine debugger crashes/closes on its own quickly. But game window remains frozen but open.
Again after waiting for a few seconds the same popup appears but upon clicking ok the program exits.
I can provide a recording if anyone wants.

As far as I can tell, all of the problems reported so far are with AnomalyDX11AVX.exe. Do any of the other flavors hang or crash?

I could not reproduce the bug in non-AVX binaries.
However when trying to run it through mod organizer 2 and dxvk without AVX, it fails. FYI all the previous testing is done with vanilla Anomaly and the bug is consistent.
To reproduce: 1. Vanilla anomaly(no dxvk) - AVX crashes ; dx11, dx10, dx9 crash 2. Vanilla anomaly with modded exes(no dxvk) - AVX crashes ; all dx ver crash 3. Modded anomaly run through MO2(dxvk and vcrun2019) - Both binaries crash ; all dx ver crash
