Bug #: 33972 Summary: NexusTK: Page Fault on Read Access in 32-bit code Product: Wine Version: 1.6-rc4 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: DizzyThermal@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 45125 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=45125 Backtrace of NexusTK Crash
NexusTK is a 2D MMORPG that uses DirectX.
::My system configuration:: OS: Ubuntu 13.04 (64-bit) Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 6970 (fglrx) [This occurs on multiple graphics drivers I've tried]
On launch, 80% of the time, I will receive a crash on the loading screen (Where is says "Entering the Nexus... This may take a few minutes").
The download to the game is located here: (http://nexustk.com/download_2.html)
The current version of the client is: 7.04
I have tried this with Wine 1.5 and it still has this issue.
I have a development background if you'd like me to help with anything.
If you need more information I'll be glad to help!
Thanks you,
Stephen

--- Comment #3 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2013-07-06 23:56:24 CDT --- The key bit of the log doesn't say much to me:
fixme:d3d_surface:surface_convert_format Cannot find a conversion function from format WINED3DFMT_B8G8R8X8_UNORM to WINED3DFMT_B5G6R5_UNORM. fixme:ieframe:ClOleCommandTarget_Exec Unimplemented cmdid 26 Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x0000003c in 32-bit code (0x00432b37). I was able to reproduce it with wine-1.6-rc4-52-g9a0b434; creating an account worked fine, but logging in caused the crash. On a hunch, I tried running with WINEDEBUG=warn+heap wine NexusTK.exe and that helped, so it might be a heap corruption. (Still crashes on exit, though.)
Does that help you, too?

--- Comment #4 from Stephen Diniz DizzyThermal@gmail.com 2013-07-07 06:06:57 CDT --- On Windows, the game actually does crash on exit and on log out a lot. So as long as the login and start up aren't AS BAD.. It's probably getting just as stable as Windows.
If I move the screen once it's running, it glitches and I have to "scrub" the mouse over the pixels to get them to repaint.. Should I open another bug for this one or is there a DirectX setting or work around for this one as well?
Thank you for all them Dan!
