To reproduce: Register and download the installer from http://garena.com/ Work around bug 28228 with "winetricks vcrun2008" Log in Click on LAN icon Allow app to autoupdate, click OK It then tries to put up a password window of some sort and crashes. Wine displays "Wine program crash - Internal errors - Invalid parameters received".
(Annoyingly, you can't redirect the wine log; all the log messages that pop up after clicking on the LAN button go to the console. Even 'script' doesn't seem to help; you have to grab the log from the terminal scrollback.)
'winetricks ie7' works around the problem kind of; the app is then able to give you a much nicer error dialog.

After clicking LAN game, it autoupdates, then then the LAN game window opens and appears to function (clicking things seemed to work). I used winetricks vcrun2008, but nothing else, and did it multiple times with no problems.
This is on openSUSE 11.4 x86_64, Nvidia 8400GS, 270.41.06 driver. Maybe another Ubuntu 12.04 bug?

remarked what i did update wine to version 1.5.3 install ie later reinstall Garena Plus

I've found the problem in Ubuntu 12.04: http://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/linux/faq/ubuntu1204
After I set ptrace_scope to 0, Garena works (no longer crashes when I click the LAN button).
