Summary: Spurious transparent body parts in everquest 2 -- may be from bump map Product: Wine Version: 0.9.51. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: wine-directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: wine.to.kre@9ox.net
Created an attachment (id=9900) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=9900) Transparent areas on fabric, skin and other flat surfaces OK. Yes, this is a Frostfell special outfit from the Christmas event area, but it happens on many other fabric surfaces too.
Almost all non-flat body parts tend to have transparent areas. Since the structures are similar to "folds" in the fabric or texture, it may be that these are from a bump map that is erroneously interpreted as transparency map.
The described effect occurs both with and without complex shaders. Screenshot is with complex shaders enabled.

--- Comment #1 from Keith Parker mehtuus@gmail.com 2007-12-31 07:08:09 --- Created an attachment (id=9938) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=9938) Picture of transparent clothing and black polygons.
Transparent clothing has been confirmed on my system as well. This is with Wine v0.9.51. I had to downgrade from .52 because everything was black. Still some issues with the black, and the transparent clothing can be seen in three places in this picture:
- the pants of the shirtless character on the left (pants are shredded/hollow) - blond lady wearing holiday outfit (outfit is shredded) - NPC lady to the right (counter is visible through torso and the wall is visible through her arm)

--- Comment #2 from Mike zirous@gmail.com 2007-12-31 18:20:06 --- This bug has been fixed with .52. Check it out your self by looking at your chars at this view.
These photos here will show you all of .52. If the bitOverride is fixed then the game will be gold.
Before .52, or in .51 the clothing for the helm, body, pants, and arms did not render. Its was transparent, and threaded.
