Summary: Steam/TF2 crashing in mid-game. (Regression?) Product: Wine Version: 0.9.56. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gilboad@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=10923) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=10923) Steam/TF2 crash log. (gzipped)
Steam started with "-dxlevel 81 -width 1280 -height 1024 -heapsize 512000 -applaunch 440"
Stack trace doesn't look to informative - so let me know if I can help you debug this bugger.
While I can't be too certain about it - I don't remember seeing this crash in 0.9.54. (Though it might relate to the latest batch of steam updates.)

If it's a wine regression, please run a regression test:
I'll start by re-building the old 0.9.54 RPMs. If the old RPM starts crashing - this is an unrelated issue. (X/nVidia update?) If it doesn't, I'll free some time to do some regression testing.

Switching back to 54 RPMs (that differ slightly from the F8 RPM - I've added the ravenshield direct input patch) solves the problem. ~30m of gameplay without a crash.
I'll follow the RegressionTesting procedure during the week-end.

--- Comment #4 from Gilboa Davara gilboad@gmail.com 2008-02-29 08:33:00 --- No need to - I'm hitting the same crashes under .44. Though as far as I can tell, I'm seeing less of them.

Let me correct myself: I'm hitting the same crashes under -54-, 55, 56 and 57 (RPMs) and 57 (compiled from source). 54 seems less prone to crashes - I managed to play for ~3 hours yesterday; but once its starts crashing, it doesn't stop.
I'm attempting to remove the nVidia driver out of the equation by switching driver versions. (The 16x.xx series is a buggy to begin with...)

--- Comment #6 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-10-23 15:21:04 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.6 or newer) wine?
