Bug #: 28927 Summary: Wabbitcode don't launch Product: Wine Version: 1.3.31 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: poubellepasfraiche@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Installing wabbitcode from it's .msi file (http://wabbit.codeplex.com/releases/view/45275#DownloadId=121815), the installation works, then I launch the prog using the wine menu (wine --> programmes --> Revsoft --> Wabbitcode)
It showsthe error "Paramètres non valides" (also in english : invalid parameters), and then after clicking "ok", shows the error "aucun programme Windows n'est configuré pour ouvrir ce type de fichier" (in english : "no windows program is configured to open this type of file").
I've installed the windows version of mono using wine, relaunching the app does the same.
Don't know how to install mono on ubuntu, but it should be already installed by default that's why I think it's a wine bug, 'cause it don't detect the default installed mono and the windows version of mono.
If not, please help me !

--- Comment #2 from poubellepasfraiche@gmail.com 2011-10-30 17:37:58 CDT --- There is no backtrace : when I launch it using command line, ir is said that it uses net framework and so I need mono to be installed. Try it yourself.

the application installs fine, and starting Revsoft.Wabbitcode.exe gives a few popups about unimplemented things in mono. If I install dotnet40 with winetricks, those go away and instead I get a pop up that group.revsoft.org can't be resolved (which is true): austin@aw25 ~ $ host group.revsoft.org Host group.revsoft.org not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
the application itself, however, starts fine with either wine-mono or native .Net 4.
Please retest.

but with winetricks -q dotnet40
it starts with no issues. Unless you want to make this mono bug there is nothing to fix here.

I couldn't find 'Wabbitcode.msi' but the project archive still contains older releases.

When starting the IDE with recent Wine 6.1 it shows a message box due sw update check which obviously can't work due to the project / site shutdown.
--- snip --- $ WINEDEBUG=+msgbox wine ./Revsoft.Wabbitcode.exe ... 0104:trace:msgbox:MSGBOX_OnInit L"System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.\r\n at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponseFromData (System.Net.WebResponseStream stream, System.Threading.CancellationToken cancellationToken) [0x00146] in <a53e1eeb99d9433188c674f67e6c16c2>:0 \r\n at Syste"... --- snip ---
You can dismiss the message box and the IDE will still start.
Wine-Mono was integrated into Wine for the first time with commit https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/8ea086b30802fd668f0580dec9... ("appwiz.cpl: Add Wine Mono to addons.")
Part of Wine 1.5.5 release.
Output with Wine 1.5.5 = Wine-Mono 0.0.4
--- snip --- $ pwd /home/focht/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Revsoft/Wabbitcode
$ wine ./Revsoft.Wabbitcode.exe wine: Install Mono 2.8 or greater for Windows to run .NET 4.0 applications. --- snip ---
It hangs with Wine 1.5.16 = Wine-Mono 0.0.8
--- snip --- $ wine ./Revsoft.Wabbitcode.exe fixme:mscoree:CLRMetaHost_GetRuntime Unrecognized version L"v4.0" --- snip ---
With Wine 1.7.8 = Wine-Mono 4.5.2 the IDE starts, albeit error dialogs are shown on startup. They can be dismissed. Probably the stuff mentioned by Austin in comment #3.

Resolving fixed by commit https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/608b1e141457dc9653d4783419... ("mscoree: Update Wine Mono to 4.5.2.").
Part of Wine 1.7.8 release.
