The "create directory" button (icon is a yellow folder with an asterisk) in the
ARM Versatile Express installer (an msi file) does nothing.  This is especially
annoying as this installer does not allow you to simply type a non-existent
path (it ignores your selection if you do so).

Clicking on the button causes the following fixme to be printed:

fixme:msi:ControlEvent_HandleControlEvent unhandled control event
L"DirectoryListNew" arg(L"0").

Creating the directory outside of the installer allows it to be selected and
then the install proceeds normally.

This ticket has not been updated for over 900 days.

Is this still an issue in wine version 1.6-rc3 or higher or is this to be
closed as abandoned ?

This patch changes the behaviour, but does not correct the issue.  I found a
Windows machine to try this on.  I'll attach a screenshot of what the button
is supposed to do, which is to add a new entry to the current directory
listing where the user can then enter a new name.

Prior to the patch, the button did exactly nothing.  Now, the button actually
creates the directory that appears in the "Folder Name" input, and causes
weird things to happen in the other controls.

Note that on Windows, no directories are actually created anywhere on the
filesystem until the install process is fully started.

Yes, but you need to create an account in the site. Then you have to go to
Resources -> Downloads -> Development Tools -> Versatile Family -> Versatile
Express version 2.0.

In the right side there will be a download link for the installer. The final

This is still an issue 1.7.53. You can test this bug also via bug #39481 . No
account creating is needed.
