Summary: Wine doesn't load any program since update Product: Wine Version: 1.1.33 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: descent1@gmx.net
Since I've upgraded from 1.1.32 to 1.1.33, wine doesn't start any program (except winecfg, notepad, regedit) for the following reason:
err:wineboot:ProcessRunKeys Error running cmd L"spoolvs.exe" (2) err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception.
(Only these two lines appear) All my programs worked before (Steam, TrackMania, ...). A Downgrade doesn't help.
I'm using openSUSE Linux 11.2 32 bit.

--- Comment #1 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2009-11-20 08:17:50 --- Can you try a clean wineprefix (remove/rename ~/.wine directory or specify different one with WINEPREFIX env var).

--- Comment #2 from Philipp L. descent1@gmx.net 2009-11-20 08:29:11 --- That didn't change the situation. Compiling wine myelf instead of using RPM didn't help as well.

--- Comment #3 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-11-20 10:08:10 --- If a downgrade doesn't help, nor does a fresh wineprefix, something else is screwed up. What else did you upgrade?

--- Comment #4 from Philipp L. descent1@gmx.net 2009-11-20 10:20:47 --- Well, I installed a lot of software, since I lost many installed programs when I updated from openSUSE 11.1 to 11.2, but I don't remember installing anything that could interrupt wine. By the way, strace notices the winecrash as a SIGSEGV.

--- Comment #5 from Philipp L. descent1@gmx.net 2009-11-20 14:35:24 --- I also noticed that loading different types of DLLs fails. Example: starting TrackMania Nations Forever causes:
err:module:import_dll Loading library d3dx9_30.dll (which is needed by L"H:\tm\TmForeverLauncher.exe") failed (error c0000005).

--- Comment #6 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2009-11-20 19:03:38 --- Have you tried reinstalling video drivers? Run wine under gdb see where it crashes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20767
--- Comment #7 from Philipp L. descent1@gmx.net 2009-11-22 10:59:11 --- Reinstalling the video driver doesn't help - GDB doesn't tell me anything. I compiled wine with debugging flags, so I think it must be something outside wine...

--- Comment #8 from Philipp L. descent1@gmx.net 2009-11-22 11:03:16 --- Oh I found the problem: I checked LD output from the wine-executable and it was linked against a library I installed for my TV card. I simply changed that, now it works. Thanks to everybody.
