But there's no point in someone asking me again and again and again to reproduce this bug without him ever trying to fix the bug after I confirmed it.
Do you consider it civilised from Austin English that all he does is wasting my time again and again and again?
Confirming the bug is still present in newer Wine versions is part of reporting the bug, lots of commits go into Wine, between the periods Austin asks to test, usually a few months, so sometimes bugs get fixed without being specifically investigated. Feel free to proactively post every few months with a comment saying "still present in wine-foo.".
What's the point of all this?
My impression is that no matter what I do, none of you guys will fix this bug.
Is it Austins objective to annoy me with requests to reproduce the bug until I give up and he can close the bug?
Why isn't he a honest man and simply closes the bug citing lack of developer interest, if the goal is to get the number of open bugs lower?
If there was a link to a demo then it's possible you'd find someone else would test it instead of asking you to or maybe even investigate the problem.
If someone is working on fixing a bug I reported, I'm willing to help.
For a different bug with this game, I even once bought an additional copy and sent it to Dan Kegel.
But I don't see the point in wasting time or money if there's no developer interested in fixing this bug.
