Open SDS4 with the command: wine /home/jjthomas/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Smart\ Diary\ Suite\ 4/SDS4.exe

Click on Tools, Options and then okay.

I get a Program Error pop up saying The program SDS4.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close...

SDS4 runs fine under XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1

Also, when running programs with Wine, always switch to the application directory first, some applications won't work otherwise.

'33D9A761-90C8-11d0-BD43-00A0C911CE86' -> CLSID_AudioCompressorCategory

There is a plugin 'Multimedia Engine' ('AdjMmsEng.dll') which tries to query the list of available audio compressors.

Wine returns S_FALSE (no category found) and the stupid app code seems to use 'SUCCEEDED(hr)' macro despite what MSDN says, assuming success. It tries to access the IEnumMoniker instance which is obviously NULL.

Anyway, the real problem is how Wine handles 'CLSID_AudioCompressorCategory'. It must be treated as special category.

Hello. I do not have that file on my system. I googled it, but I was not able to figure out how to install it. Admittedly, I did not look very far. Is there a FAQ on how to get this file installed?

I also installed wine via package manager, on debian stretch.

Hi, I just tried to run this program in current wine, but for me it just segfaults...

Is this a regression or a problem on my side? Could someone give this program a try as well to check?
