Capsized, a game purchased through Steam, fails to run. WINE is complaining about code in the Microsoft XNA Framework which can't be executed by the Windows version of Mono that the game automatically installed when it ran for the first time.

--- Comment #1 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2013-01-13 10:52:33 CST --- It should be noted that the game has been updated on Steam since this bug report was opened. Currently Steam installs only MS XNA 3.1 Framework along with the game, so the user has to install .Net 3.5 via winetricks beforehand. Installing the Windows version of Mono 2.10 doesn't help, because the MS XNA framework refuses to install with it.
It took a while until I got the game running, terminal output didn't reveal much clues what the problem could be. The game crashes on start because of the intro videos. It seems the following native components are needed (beside .Net3.5 and XNA 3.1): wmp10, quartz, devenum. Native qedit.dll is also needed but there's no such verb in winetricks. I had to register native quartz and qedit multiple times with regsvr32.exe until the game finally could start.
The demo is available on Steam if someone would like to test it: http://store.steampowered.com/app/95300/

--- Comment #2 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
resolving 'fixed' with Béla's comment. This bug was likely invalid anyway since OP didn't properly install required .NET Framework prerequisites.

--- Comment #3 from Vincent Povirk madewokherd@gmail.com --- Original bug was reported against Mono. I haven't tested Capsized recently, but in my experience XNA installs but does not start.

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.51 or newer) wine?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27215
--- Comment #5 from Adam Bolte abolte@systemsaviour.com --- Confirming this is still an issue when using Mono. I didn't try installing .NET 3.5.
Tested against Wine 1.7.51 in a clean 32-bit WinXP wineprefix.

--- Comment #7 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
confirming on behalf of Adam.
Also refining summary to make it obvious it's only a problem with Wine-Mono. I prefer having the culprit already explicitly mentioned in summary even if 'mscoree' component is reserved for it.

--- Comment #8 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- Does the demo have the same issue? Is this still an issue in wine-3.13?
