Bug #: 32371 Summary: Image Composite Editor, which requires .NET Framework 2.0, fails to launch during startup Product: Wine Version: 1.4-rc1 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Mac OS X Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: mscoree AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: no_name_@gmx.ch Classification: Unclassified

Wine --version: 1.4.1 dotnet20sp2 successfully installed
Hi there,
During Start-Up of ICE.exe (Image Composite Editor) with wine, I get the following error:
err:ole:CoGetContextToken apartment not initialised fixme:shell:URL_ParseUrl failed to parse L"PresentationFramework" fixme:imm:ImmDisableIME (-1): stub fixme:thread:NtQueryInformationThread Cannot get kerneltime or usertime of other threads fixme:thread:NtQueryInformationThread info class 9 not supported yet fixme:thread:NtQueryInformationThread info class 9 not supported yet fixme:thread:NtQueryInformationThread info class 9 not supported yet fixme:advapi:RegisterEventSourceW ((null),L".NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting"): stub
I sense the reason at Microsoft's .NET Framework 2.0, although I can't understand at all what or where the error has (been) caused. For further details, I've added wine's bug report as an attachment.
If anyone has an idea or far better ;) the solution of what causes the error, please let me know.
What hasn't been working for me: - Running ICE.exe with wine-devel (couldn't install dotnet20 (and its service packages) over wine tricks - Running ICE.exe with mono - Searching trough BugZilla for a similar error
Cheers mates, Marc

--- Comment #1 from Marc Weber no_name_@gmx.ch 2012-12-07 10:01:22 CST --- Sadly, there is no response until now :(. Because I couldn't figure out the cause yet... (keep on working on it! :D). Well, I've builded wine from source (devel-v.1.5.18) which I'v got over git. So my wine-git respitory should be up do date. Next, I've installed winetricks over MacPorts and got dotnet20. Installation succesful! :D and clarified with netfx_setupverifier_new that .NET Framework 2.0 is installed and running. So far so good, but now comes the 'brainarcher'. If I want to install ICE-1-1.3.5-for-32-bit-Windows.msi (I run msiexec /i) I get this error :
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"VSDCA_VsdLaunchConditions" returned 1603
Somehow with wine v.1.4.1 it could work around and install it but unfortunately not run it. This is why I've builded a new wine from source in the expection that it might will work with the newest devel-version.
Please let me know, if you have an idea what causes the error or I should post further information. Thx a lot!
Cheers mates, Marc

A +msi,+relay log would tell more.

Please attach the full terminal output, using 1.5.18. Also, is there a free demo/download available?

--- Comment #3 from Marc Weber no_name_@gmx.ch 2012-12-13 14:06:32 CST --- Hi Austin English,
Thanks for the reply... I've managed to install ICE with wine 1.5.18 :D ICE v1.2 runs with wine 1.5.18, which is great! The higher versions (1.3.5 and 1.4.4) weren'r running although. Nevertheless, I'm fine with 1.2
For further details, I've created a file in the AppDB.
Cheers mate, Maexel
