Summary: Icewind Dale 1: Installation regression Product: Wine Version: 1.1.4 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: xvachon@gmail.com
An error occured during the move data process -117
Component: Full\English File Group: File: D:\CD2\Data\MVEfile1.bif
The game does not produce a log unfortunately. The only line I had is
fixme:mixer:ALSA_MixerInit No master control found on USB Device 0x46d:0x8b2, disabling mixer
Which I do not believe to have any connection with the issue. I could install the game flawlessly on Wine 1.1.0, therefore I believe it is a regression.

Please run a regression test http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting
I am having problems to prepare the grounds for the testing. I have downloaded the source with GIT, and now when I try to build the dependencies required, I get this message.
xavier@Xavier:~$ sudo apt-get build-dep wine Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Build-dependencies for wine could not be satisfied.
When I try to run the .configure command in the wine-git directory
xavier@Xavier:~/wine-git$ CC="ccache gcc -m32" ./configure --verbose checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking for gcc... ccache gcc -m32 checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables See `config.log' for more details.
I am not a developer, so I am having a hard time to understand all of this! Can you provide me some help so that I can get going with the testing afterwards? Thanks!

--- Comment #4 from Alexander Dorofeyev alexd4@inbox.lv 2008-09-06 11:38:54 --- I can do full install with current git & new wine prefix here with no problem. If you can, check
1) if there is enough HDD space 2) CD isn't damaged / all files can be read / works in windows 3) what happens with a new wine prefix (for convenience, WINEPREFIX=/home/yourname/some_temp_folder wine /mnt/cdrom/Setup.exe will install into a new wine prefix in some_temp_folder that can be removed after test)

I managed to install it by doing a recommended install instead of a full install. I am clueless however on what makes the full install fail. The DVD I have is clean, I have plenty of room available on my HDD, and the winecfg is programmed properly.

Have you tried a new / blank prefix created with current git wine? I ran into installation failures myself several times that happened because of wine prefix created by previous wine versions.

I have tested with the latest WINE (1.1.12). Do you want me to downgrade to 1.1.4 and retest?

If you want to call it invalid you should test to see if it was really not working with 1.1.4. If it now works with 1.1.4 then it's invalid, otherwise it's fixed.
