Bug ID: 36953 Summary: Galactic Civilizations II: stars not rendered Product: Wine Version: 1.7.22 Hardware: x86 URL: http://sdcbase.stardock.com/bounce/index.aspx?url=http ://stardock.cachefly.net/GalacticCivilizationsII_Demo. exe OS: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: gyebro69@gmail.com
Created attachment 49065 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=49065 terminal output
Stars are missing on the main map in the game. You can see the ships, planets and other objects but not the stars (they should appear as tiny white/grey dots). Both the open source Noveau and the binary Nvidia drivers affected. Native d3dx9_27 was used. The same problem with Wine 1.2.3/1.4.1/1.6.2/1.7.22
Fedora 20 Nvidia binary drivers 340.24

--- Comment #3 from Teras teras@luukku.com --- I retry.
Actually there are stars drawn, but they are barely visible. They are really small.
Not like in this picture
http://images.stardock.com/ss/shotstore/19/The%20Universe/new-2.JPG
Those are huge vs the ones I see.

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36953
--- Comment #5 from Teras teras@luukku.com --- My attachment is really poor in quality. Too small in size. You cant see stars in it, but I did see them when I took the screencapture.
They are barely visible when run in fullscreen. That's how bad they are drawn compared to windows.

I have to confirm that now star is good visible. Wine-1.7.45 while in older wine they are barely visible.
Check, please, if the bug is resolved.
