I have installed debug symbols: $ dpkg -l | grep wine ii wine 1.1.21~winehq1-1 Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer ii wine-dbg 1.1.21~winehq1-1 Debugging symbols for Wine
And upgraded wine version to 1.1.21, still the same problem occurs.

I don`t think that`s the point because audio works perfect in starcraft and any other windows programs.

It is impossible for me to remove this one libpulse0, because it means to remove full kde4. That`s not that I want.

Since Wine has no libpulse driver, the problems with pulseaudio only occur when the pulseaudio daemon is running. libpulse0 is benign in this situation.

changing to open because audio is not the point
Due to the nature of the conflict between pulseaudio and Wine, any bug reported with pulseaudio running is likely to be ignored. Pulse doesn't JUST cause audio problems with Wine, it *can* also cause crashes or massive performance loss.
Also note, I can't find any references to "ICCup Launcher" on the ICCup website. What application is this exactly?

But the sound in game excellent so wine must use alsa.

Please read the post. Pulseaudio causes lots of problems with Wine, and bug reports submitted while using it are usually ignored.

The "Anti-Hack Launcher" is not called "ICCup Launcher", so this is why I couldn't find what app you were talking about in your original report (where you did not mention "Anti-Hack Launcher"). I've also raised this with the supermaintainer for the AppDB entry.

--- Comment #22 from Ryan Tandy tarpman@gmail.com 2010-01-24 19:18:47 --- Hello,
I'm a Wine user and Starcraft player. I'd like to help get this bug resolved, if I can. I'm running Gentoo and Wine 1.1.36 on a 32-bit system. Pulseaudio is not, and has never been, present in any form. Can anyone tell me what information I could provide that would help to move us towards resolving this bug? I'm about to begin looking at the Wine code myself to see if I can figure out what's going on, but I'm completely unfamiliar with it so any help would be really appreciated.
With regards to the inconsistent naming of the launcher program: to the best of my knowledge the name is in fact "ICCup Launcher". That is the name of the Program Files folder, the Start Menu folder, and more. "Anti-Hack launcher" describes the _purpose_ of the application, but they use that to refer to it in some places, such as on the download link.
A related application by the same developer is Chaos Launcher: http://winner.cspsx.de/Starcraft/ It shares some code with the ICCup launcher and exhibits the same crash. Source for the ICCup launcher is not available, but I believe the developer does make the Chaos Launcher source available on request. I'd be willing to contact him about it if it could be useful.
Thanks all for your time.

In fact I just noticed that the code has been posted on Google Code: http://code.google.com/p/chaoslauncher/source/browse/trunk It allows plugins to apply patches to the Starcraft binary before it is started and even while it is running. It's the same technique used by the ICCup launcher.
Please let me know if I should be opening a separate bug for Chaoslauncher.

--- Comment #24 from Ryan Tandy tarpman@gmail.com 2010-01-25 21:01:48 --- I found an interesting thing. Both the ICCup Launcher and Chaoslauncher generate Starcraft crashes if I run them normally ('wine Launcher.exe'). However, if I run them in winedbg ('winedbg Launcher.exe'), they don't crash and as far as I can tell they work correctly. Hopefully this is a useful clue, considering that they way they work is by using debugging APIs. At the least it's a good enough workaround for me, since the debugger overhead if any is low enough that it doesn't seem to affect the game speed for me.
