Summary: NFS U1: Incorrect mapping/naming of the wheel's buttons Product: Wine Version: 1.3.24 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: wylda@volny.cz
I was asked by Lucas Fialho Zawacki to make some comparison of my wheel between WinXP and Wine. I took Need for Speed Underground 1 for the tests:
Options -> Controller -> Controller Setup:
WinXP Wine ============================================= Steering Left Wheel axis Axis0 Steering Right Wheel axis Axis0 Throttle Combined pedals Axis1 Break Combined pedals Axis1 Button A Left Paddle Button 0 Button B Right Paddle Button 1 Button C Button 3 Button 2 Button D Button 4 Button 3 Button E Button 5 Button 4 Button F Button 6 Button 5
Tested with: * wheel "Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP" * wine-1.3.24-174-g4b4dd30.
On WinXP machine, there is logitech driver installed.

When i use "Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel":
WinXP Wine ============================================= Steering Left X Axis Axis0 Steering Right X Axis Axis0 Throttle Y Axis Axis1 Break Y Axis Axis1 Button A Button 0 Button 1 Button B Button 1 Button 2 Button C Button 2 Button 3 Button X Button 3 Button 4 Button Y Button 4 Button 5 Button Z Button 5 Button 6 Left Paddle Button 6 Button 7 Right Paddle Button 7 Button 8 F-Feedback On/Off N/A Button 9
Here is interesting, that NFS U1 under WinXP is not able to detect the button for turning Force Feedback On/Off, but Wine does not have a problem and says "Button 9".

Well, as Wine probably does not care about exact wording in various messages (replicating Windows to the last letter), naming of Axes & Buttons should be irrelevant.
So probably only useful thing here could be:
WinXP is not able to detect the button for turning Force Feedback On/Off, but Wine does not have a problem and says "Button 9".
Unfortunately, i don't have that wheel anymore :c( I'm going to leave this bug, if no-one else is interested...
