Summary: Orbit downloader runs but can't capture traffic Product: Wine Version: 0.9.58. Platform: PC URL: http://www.orbitdownloader.com/ OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: drraph@gmail.com
Orbit downloader is an app to help download videos especially over tricky protocols like RTMP (which downloadhelper can't cope with). It runs ok in wine but doesn't see any traffic. Steps to reproduce problem:
1) Download and install orbit downloader 2) Make sure you have internet explorer installed 3) Run Grab.exe from orbit downloader install or from the Tools menu of Orbit Downloader 4) Open http://videolectures.net/gbr07_bunke_aqpa/ in IE and play video which amazingly does work in wine :)
Nothing is captured by Grab. This is the same with videos from youtube for example.
The only errors produced by Grab are
err:listview:LISTVIEW_WindowProc unknown msg 204e wp=000003e8 lp=0034c384
I am on ubuntu 7.10 with wine 0.9.58.

--- Comment #1 from Raphael drraph@gmail.com 2008-03-26 07:50:29 --- I tested the same process using firefox as orbit downloader provides a firefox plugin. The problem is exactly the same. In other words, everything works perfectly except that no url or traffic is captured as before and so you can't download the video.

This is the window that comes up correctly but is always empty.

- Make sure you have internet explorer installed
Are you using ies4linux? We don't support it.

--- Comment #4 from Raphael drraph@gmail.com 2008-03-26 13:17:15 --- I am but if that is a problem please follow the firefox route instead. You get exactly the same problem.

--- Comment #5 from Raphael drraph@gmail.com 2008-03-26 13:35:06 --- For completeness I just installed IE SP1 from Microsoft (without using ies4linux) and it shows the same problem with Orbit Downloader.

Can you try using wine's builtin IE?
$ wine iexplore.exe http://www.google.com/ and click yes to install gecko.

--- Comment #7 from Raphael drraph@gmail.com 2008-03-26 16:06:27 --- I did that and then did wine iexplore.exe http://videolectures.net/gbr07_bunke_aqpa/ with exactly the same result. I.e. orbit downloader does not manage to sniff the address. The only difference is the number of fixme's that iexplore.exe gives.

--- Comment #8 from Raphael drraph@gmail.com 2008-03-26 16:34:42 --- So...
I completely removed .wine so that there would be no remnants of ies4linux left and then used the iexplore.exe line above and then ran Orbit Downloader. Same problem.

--- Comment #9 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-10-17 15:56:54 --- Is this still a problem in current (1.1.6 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #10 from Raphael drraph@gmail.com 2008-12-21 14:23:48 --- Yes. Tested with latest Orbit downloader (2.8.1), wine 1.10 and Windows firefox 3.0.5. This time I had to copy msvcp60.dll to system32 to get Orbit to run at all.
If there is any debugging info I can provide please let me know.
