Bug ID: 42261 Summary: Evoland 2 is very slow Product: Wine Version: 2.0-rc5 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: spleefer90@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Evoland 2 is $1 for the next 2 weeks. https://www.humblebundle.com/best-of-2016-bundle
The game lags badly in all bigger areas, and little in small areas.
There doesn't seem to be any relevant wine output to it, but I'll post a game startup log soon.

--- Comment #2 from winetest@luukku.com --- It would like to have MemorySectionName implemented.
Does it work any better if you start it like this. WINEDEBUG=-all, wine game.exe?

--- Comment #3 from C0rn3j spleefer90@gmail.com --- Created attachment 56964 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=56964 directly launching evoland2
I've launched the executable directly, looks like Steam would like to have that memory mapping implemented, not Evoland.
Launching it directly shows this log.
Also tried launching the game like this but it still ran crappy and got me no log output, which I assume was the point.
WINEPREFIX=~/.wineSteam WINEDEBUG=-all wine Evoland2.exe

--- Comment #4 from C0rn3j spleefer90@gmail.com --- The lag seems to be completely gone under wine-staging with CSMT ON.

--- Comment #5 from winetest@luukku.com --- (In reply to C0rn3j from comment #4)
The lag seems to be completely gone under wine-staging with CSMT ON.
Are you aware that wine 2.6 now includes CSMT patches? It's off by default.
See this guide CSMT part

So could you test if this helps?

You can also turn CSMT on and off with winetricks these days :)
