Hi,
when running setup.exe of Need for Speed Undercover under wine-1.1.30, i noticed that installer looks like frozen, but after a long time (more than cca 15min) the game was installed.
Quick bisection between wine-1.1.15 and wine-1.1.16 gives following commit:

There is also attached console diff between wine-1.1.15 and wine-1.1.16.
_Maybe_ because of this behavior people report it as progress bar issue - like a link between NFS Undercover and bug 12116 (it's not a dupe because wine 1.1.7 works for NFS Undercover unlike bug 12116 has still a problem with this version). I think this is bugzilla's lack, that people don't have to leave a comment under a bug report when creating a link between application and bug report. At least i could see who made such link and ask him closer whether it's the same issue, what app/game version etc...
PS: Hope, that marking wine's version like 1.1.16 is correct (or 1.1.30?)

OK, we have another victims of this regression. This time it is Fifa 2009. Good news is, there is a free demo:

But not only a demo is affected. If you look into AppDB you will find Elbolo's test result stating: "Installation hangs while "removing files" at 0%. I've able to install it however with the older wine 1.1.9"
So this user was not patient enough. Installation takes really a long time since wine-1.1.16.
Please consider UNCONFIRMED->NEW, KEYWORDS: DOWNLOAD

For the record... Fifa 10 is also affected by this bug, produces same log as in comment #0, but the problem is not at the beginning of the installation like in case of NFS or FIFA 09 (i.e. state "Status: removing files"), but it "hangs" at the end of installation (i.e. state "Status: Publishing product information"). So if someone wants to test, take rather Fifa 09 (it's easier, faster, saves you HDD space).

For the record... We've got C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker :) First non-EA game suffering from this commit. It's Trackmania united forever and problem appears at the end of installation process.

Another affected game is Assassin's Creed 2. Actually i see this problem in many/zillion games...
This bug is real pain for someone who regularly tests and installs games. Watching long-standing non-changing window with all 8 CPU at 99~100% idle is frustrating. Many hours wasted...
* I wonder about nominating for 1.2? * What is the right component for fusion?

Same here, tested two demos referenced -> both installed fine.
