it all began with Bug 24627: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24627

when trying to run ProPresenter 4.0.0.1, it crashes on startup.

steps to reproduce: - clean wine compiled from sources of 20100404 (with patch from bug 24627, so that I could continue installation: http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=31130) - install using winetricks: winetricks winxp dotnet30 - download ProPresenter & install it from: http://www.renewedvision.com/downloads/pc/ProPresenter_Windows_4.0.0.1.zip

when trying to run from console, it crashes (want's to send notification to M$) see attached console output in file console-20101005.txt

I tried to google and found: http://community.sharpdevelop.net/forums/p/6428/18374.aspx

so I guess there is a need to have .net 3.5 installed to have this app running, but as there are multiple blocking bugs related to installation of .net3.5 I need to wait till those are fixed

Additionally: 'winetricks -q wsh57' to work around bug 35482 (installer)

Workarounds for some well known .NET runtime bugs:

'winetricks -q corefonts' 'winetricks -q windowscodecs' (WPF 3.x)

The app starts and displays a 'License Registration' dialog window. After clicking 'Demo' button, a splash screen is shown and the app crashes a short time later.

Trace log reveals:

'winetricks -q devenum' works around and lets the app successfully start (some movie maker like user interface is shown).
