The launcher doesnt work without winetricks -q dotnet20
There are some gdi related lines at console

I can't reproduce this with recent Wine version. The text is properly displayed now. Assuming fixed.
NOTE:
There is an error dialog on launcher startup if you opt out from DirectX install. The .NET Framework 2.0 based launcher requires managed DirectX 1.0 assemblies installed.
