Summary: Sallambo crashes on main menu Product: Wine Version: 1.3.9 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: i30817@gmail.com
When Salammbo is run after being installed and patched it crashes immediatly after the loading menu appears and does a little animation. A message box about "encountered a problem..." appears and then you have to wait quite a lot to make it spit a stacktrace.
The only thing it outputs on being installed is this: "fixme:storage:create_storagefile Storage share mode not implemented."
The installation process asks for the version of the OS it is installed on, but that makes no difference on the bug (installing the patch or not also appears to make no difference. Warning: i haven't tested all combinations, just XP + patch and windows 2000, 95 without patch).
When run, it has the problem reported on the first line. Here is a stacktrace (it took quite a long time to get)

--- Comment #2 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2010-12-13 09:12:42 CST --- Does the demo crash in the same way for you? I can reproduce the crash in the demo using Wine-1.3.9 and the generated crashlog is almost the same as yours, but just to be sure... Furthermore can you confirm that there's no crash when using Wine-1.3.6 (or earlier)? If so it seems to be a regression.

--- Comment #3 from paulo i30817@gmail.com 2010-12-13 17:26:48 CST --- It looks like a regression indeed. If i revert back to wine 1.2 it doesn't crash (or at least, it doesn't crash everytime).
It is very slow though, and appears to start crashing again once you change your color bit depth or resolution ingame and quit and play again.

--- Comment #4 from paulo i30817@gmail.com 2010-12-13 17:38:06 CST --- No sound either (except a sound effect when you click on a button on the menu before starting the game).

--- Comment #6 from paulo i30817@gmail.com 2010-12-17 17:45:48 CST --- Been having problems compiling recent versions.
It fails with this: ccache gcc -m32 -m32 -c -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -D__WINESRC__ -D_REENTRANT -fPIC -Wall -pipe -fno-strict-aliasing -Wdeclaration-after-statement -Wstrict-prototypes -Wtype-limits -Wwrite-strings -Wpointer-arith -g -O0 -o registrar.o registrar.c registrar.c: In function ‘DllGetClassObject’: registrar.c:747: error: ‘CLSID_Registrar’ undeclared (first use in this function) registrar.c:747: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once registrar.c:747: error: for each function it appears in.) registrar.c: In function ‘do_register_server’: registrar.c:796: error: ‘CLSID_Registrar’ undeclared (first use in this function) make[1]: *** [registrar.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/paulo/wine-git/dlls/atl' make: *** [dlls/atl] Error 2
Even after using "make clean"
compile command: CC="ccache gcc -m32" LDFLFLAGS="-L./lib32" CFLAGS="-g -O0" ./configure --verbose --disable-tests && make depend && make && printf "\a"
(i was actually able to compile a earlier version as you know from the Arcanum bug)

--- Comment #7 from paulo i30817@gmail.com 2010-12-17 17:57:17 CST --- Wait, i just saw a thread about it in google.
You should put in the
"make distclean && git clean -f" command in the compile faq.

And again. How can we make sure he sees it?
He probably has his bugzilla preferences set to only email on certain events.
Don't worry, Henri reads wine-bugs, he'll see it :-).
