Bug #: 30622 Summary: Cannon Fodder 3 gives black characters and environment Product: Wine Version: 1.5.3 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Mac OS X Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: paulthetall@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 40096 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=40096 Screenshot of issue
Cannon fodder 3 starts up fine (with crack because of starforce DRM + xact2010 winetrick) and videos works fine, but when playing campaign, everythings has black shadow. See screenshot. Its as on AMD Radeon 6770M graphicscard with Lion as on Snowleopard with Nvidia 9400M. So it is not an AMD Radeon driver issue beause the nvidia graphicscard has the same issue.
Please help, its a promising game becasue the rest works fine but because of the black shadow/charactors this game is not enjoybale to play this way.

--- Comment #4 from Paul The Tall paulthetall@gmail.com 2012-05-22 08:47:47 CDT --- I think the main issue is this: fixme:d3d:swapchain_gl_present Render-to-fbo with WINED3D_SWAP_EFFECT_FLIP
It happens in more games i remember...

The cursor works in Fullscreen mode. I'm using the WIne exolorer virtual desktop.

--- Comment #10 from Jarkko K jarkko_korpi@hotmail.com --- I didnt't have directx installed so the game complained about missing file: X3DAudio1_7.dll
After installing directx I was able to run the game and I got similar screen as attached here (no need for me upload -I did take screenshot).
The debug is very simple, nothing very strange.
I would like to point out next lines.
"err:winediag:shader_generate_glsl_declarations The hardware does not support enough uniform components to run this shader, it may not render correctly."
I have ati 7870, 14,3 beta.
I see also err:ole:CoInitializeEx Attempt to change threading model of this apartment from multi-threaded to apartment threaded
The log is mostly
fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8.
Wine 1.7.15
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30622
--- Comment #11 from Jarkko K jarkko_korpi@hotmail.com --- I would like to add something here.
I had 1.7.16 in use, but it's not vanilla.
I had the exact error as before that colors are somehow flipped/swapped.
I finished some level and I started to play something I have never seen before, a jungle map.
It had all colors in right order.
The demo is russian, so I don't understand the menus...
