Attaching a screenshot. The stripes look different every time you open Word or
Powerpoint (Excel seems unaffected), and change if you resize the window or
restore from minimizing.

This is on openSUSE 11.4, KDE 4.6 (desktop effects disabled), GeForce 8400GS,
270.41.06 driver.

powerpoint with patch

The patch fixes most of it, but there is still a noticeable vertical blue
stripe on the left in the background, and in Powerpoint running in windowed
mode there is also now a blue stripe across the top of the page itself. That
stripe gets smaller as you enlarge the window vertically, and it is not seen in
full-screen mode.

Powerpoint with both patches

Both patches together fix the background of the main window, but do not fix the
blue at the top of the the document. The notes panel at the bottom is also
still incorrect: it should be solid white, not blue, and there should not be a
rectangle within that panel.

Also, the document does not resize correctly when resizing the window--the text
moves out of the textbox. I'm not sure if that's related or a separate bug.
