Bug ID: 38938 Summary: SlingPlayer 1.5 crashes when moving the main window Product: Wine Version: 1.7.47 Hardware: x86-64 URL: http://download.slingmedia.com/player/pc/SlingPlayer-S etup-EU-1.5.1.343.exe OS: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: quartz Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com Distribution: Ubuntu
Created attachment 51873 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=51873 wine-1.7.47-84-g2294d3b console output
Moving the SlingPlayer 1.5 main window causes a crash in quartz.
1. Install SlingPlayer 1.5 2. Launch SlingPlayer 3. Cancel "Slingbox Directory" dialog 4. Move the main window 5. Crash in quartz
err:quartz:VideoRenderer_GetVideoFormat Unknown format type TIME_FORMAT_NONE
Workaround is native quartz.
I've never seen this crash before but went back to Wine 1.6.2 and it does still crash. Possibly related to Ubuntu Trusty (as opposed to Precise) or the graphics on this PC.
VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Trinity [Radeon HD 7480D]

--- Comment #3 from Ken Sharp imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com --- No change in Wine 2.1 (Staging).
The tuning wizard crashes in a different way now so that is no longer the easier test.
Native quartz can no longer be used as it also causes a new crash:
*** Error in `/home/test/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Sling Media/SlingPlayer/SlingPlayer.exe': corrupted double-linked list: 0x7c9e9150 ***
No workaround.

*** Error in `/home/test/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Sling Media/SlingPlayer/SlingPlayer.exe': corrupted double-linked list: 0x7c9e9150
That's Bug 42502 and can be worked around.

Easier to trigger by simply running the tuning wizard:
wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Sling\ Media/SlingPlayer/SPTuning.exe
This only occurs after running "wineboot -u" (Bug 31655).
The original report is still correct: moving the SlingPlayer 1.5 main window causes a crash in quartz in the same way in Wine 3.0-rc2 and Staging 2.21.
Workaround is native quartz.
