I need to use Format Factory to convert a video on my box.
FF is a free tool you can download here: http://format-factory.en.softonic.com/

This is the error I get as soon as I start the installer:

Attach (as a plain text file) complete terminal output.

As a side note - you should be using native tools available in your distro.

Since I'm not very skilled on wine I'm not sure what you requested, I hope this

Setup log is only:

Couldn't reproduce with current git.

App starts slow but seems to work, i didn't really try to use specific
function.

As you can see in the previous log I erased altogether the wine dir (I'm not
using prefixes) to be sure to start from scratch.

I've the following two packages in my system (Kubuntu 9.10):
wine1.2 1.1.38-0ubuntu1
wine1.2-gecko 1.0.0-0ubuntu3

$ wine --version
wine-1.1.38

May I do something else?

Hello Vitaliy, I did the following steps:
- deleted ~/.wine
- run winecfg and enabled virtual desktop at 800x600 size
- run the installer
The virtual desktop appears together win a splash screen for a few seconds,
then the application crashes and on the console I see the usual error:

I made another test: I purged the packages and reinstalled them, and the
installer worked :-o

I'm now trying to see if the application works: it seems quite unusuable
because when I start a conversion my console fills up with thousands of these
lines:
fixme:quartz:TransformFilter_QueryInterface No interface for

err:quartz:DSoundRender_create Cannot create Direct Sound object (88780078)
fixme:ole:CoCreateInstance no instance created for interface

and after some minutes the app seems to crash (at least the computing part) and
this error appears:

7bc6f630 esp 01710f98 stack 0x1710000-0x1711000-0x1910000

Please tell me if it's useful to report this as a new bug or simply accept that
FormatFactory can't be used on wine yet.
