Summary: Office 2007 text-mark-bug in Wine 1.1.43 Product: Wine Version: 1.1.43 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: thomasstather@aol.com
I just updated from 1.1.39 to 1.1.43 (using the Ubuntu PPA, the system is running on 9.10/karmic x86). After this i recognized, that if you mark a text in Word, the marked text is not highlighted as it usually would be. The text is however marked because if i move it or copy/paste, it works. But i don't see how many of the text i have marked.
This only affects Word, i have tested this on Excel and Powepoint as well and there isn't this issue.
Then i tried a fresh installation but this doesn't solve the Problem.

Retest under wine-1.1.44-19-gd2a0188 and the issue is same like in comment #8, i.e. we have weird color and still not reach the quality like in 1.1.42.
Maybe it seems minor, but people who will firstly touch wine 1.2 would like to test well known apps and seeing them looking the same way like in WinXP/7 is self-PR :)

--- Comment #12 from Alexandre Julliard julliard@winehq.org 2010-05-12 10:34:33 --- The color blending is correct, previous versions were actually doing it wrong. The result is not the same as on Windows because it's using system colors (COLOR_HIGHLIGHT in this case), and the default color scheme on Wine is not the same as on Vista. If you want the exact same colors you need to setup a Vista color scheme on Wine.

Wrong, but correct (same looking) ;) ...OK
The result is not the same as on Windows because it's using system colors (COLOR_HIGHLIGHT in this case), and the default color scheme on Wine is not the same as on Vista. If you want the exact same colors you need to setup a Vista color scheme on Wine.
Hmmm... I am several months around wine, but never heard of such setting. FAQ (http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ) doesn't give me the answer either.
Anyway, i wonder, why isn't by default wine to set to the same color schema as WinXP (i think, that Word2007 is the same on WinXP like on Vista). Maybe there is a reason, but hidden to me ;)
