Textures on vehicles are too dark in GTA Vice City!
Because I'm not a great wine debugger and patcher I don't know why this bug occurs but I've attached a log in the hope someone can help and resolve it. After that the game would run perfectly!

The log is in an archive because otherwise the file is too big! Sorry.

--- Comment #6 from Marco Schuster marco@harddisk.is-a-geek.org 2007-09-29 08:43:23 --- If a car is in the distance, its textures are good. If it comes nearer, textures become dark at once.

--- Comment #7 from Warren Dumortier elwario91@gmail.com 2007-10-01 01:40:24 --- Now you said it, I played to see and I think it is the problem :) But I'm not able to patch xD
Could you post an error/debug log to try to find the problem, cause I don't have it installed anymore?

--- Comment #10 from Nils Beyer nilsbeyer@web.de 2007-11-09 19:41:59 --- Any news on this issue?
Because I can confirm that this bug still present in "wine-0.9.49" under FreeBSD 7.0-Beta2. Besides of that the game runs superbly.

--- Comment #11 from Nils Beyer nilsbeyer@web.de 2007-11-09 19:59:19 --- This is a FIXME that is printed all the time during the game: "fixme:d3d_draw:drawPrimitive Using software emulation because not all material properties could be tracked"
And it seems that the dark textures on the vehicles have something to do with the reflection algorithms because it depends on from what angle you are looking at the vehicles...

--- Comment #12 from Marco Schuster marco@harddisk.is-a-geek.org 2007-11-10 07:47:06 --- Here the same fixme's... If you walk directly to a car, you can see it's colors, but way too dark. Same _may_ happen occasionally with other objects like trees and some walks (on the beach!)

--- Comment #14 from Stefan Dösinger stefandoesinger@gmx.at 2007-11-10 15:00:05 --- Not really, no. It is *very hard* to see anything in logs alone because from a log alone I have no idea which line in the log belongs to which frame and to which part of it. It's like searching a 50 byte needle in a 500 mb heystack.
Perhaps the subframe dumper should be documented in the wiki...

--- Comment #15 from Marco Schuster marco@harddisk.is-a-geek.org 2007-11-10 15:43:54 --- yes, log is at http://harddisk.is-a-geek.org/log.txt.bz2 (some 500MB extracted!). I noticed another bug at a white car: It's edges are glaring black/white...see the attached image. I also noticed this bug earlier when smashing cars but could not reproduce it.
BTW, I use current git (0.9.49).

Just looking at a white car, look at it's edges, they glare black/white.

--- Comment #17 from Jonathan echidnaman@gmail.com 2008-04-01 09:48:31 --- Many objects in the Sonic Heroes demo also exhibit this behavior. The character Tails, rings, and pretty much everything that gives a shadow are too dark.
The shiny, metallic enemy robots are what tie the game to this bug. From what I can tell, the drawPrimitive fixmes start whenever these robots are drawn.
This fixme also causes slowdown for me.
