printfil 5.29 works correctly with wine 8.0 stable, installing the 8.2 version it stops starting.

--- Comment #2 from GizMo79 gizmo_1979@yahoo.it --- on 8.0 stable printfill is working, when i did upgrade to 8.2 after upgrading prefix printfill stopped working, so i downgrade back to stable and reverted prefix fixed. This is a productivity application that I use to work, I forgot to capture the errors that the application gave, I should find time to try again or do a test VM

That's not an answer to my question, I mean does it work with upstream (aka wine-devel, aka "vanilla" wine) 8.2.

at startup wine doesn't crash, what looks like a debug window of the application itself starts... I have to find time to try again to install wine 8.2. Do you think that the problem might not arise if I used wine 8.2 in a new prefix by installing the application from fresh?

I can confirm, but I'm not sure this counts as a regression: The program works when the Windows version is set to 7, but fails to start when the Windows version is set to 10. The default Windows version changed from 7 to 10 in Wine 8.1.

It's unclear how to test this.
