Bug ID: 44576 Summary: QtWebEngineProcess.exe (Origin) Unhandled exception: page fault on write access Product: Wine Version: 3.2 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: winehq@robod.net Distribution: ---
Created attachment 60547 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=60547 QtWebEngineProcess.exe backtrace
It seems that EA have broken the Origin client with their latest update. Whatever I do, I'm getting: Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x1123fba2). in QtWebEngineProcess.exe.
More details: Had a working installation of Origin on Wine 2.21 x64. Update was pushed out on 20/2/2018 and now I'm getting the above error. Tried to re-install/uninstall, no avail. Decided to try a fresh wine prefix. Tested with 2.22/3.1/3.2 (64bit), 3.1/3.2 (32bit). The same result. Backtrace is attached. Not sure if I can provide any more debug info.

--- Comment #2 from Louis Lenders xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com --- AFAIK this Origin client is free to download, right?
Could you provide a downloadlink to the client that shows this scpecific crash, so we can test ourselves? Thanks
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44576
--- Comment #3 from Robod winehq@robod.net --- Yes, the Origin client is free to download from https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/download. However, if you access this from Linux, it will detect "unsupported" client. This bug is now linked to AppDB. So if you click on the AppDB link above it will show the Origin client entry and the direct download links that somebody already kindly provided. For me this is manifesting itself in both the full and thin versions.

--- Comment #4 from Louis Lenders xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com --- Does ``winetricks corefonts`` change anything? (work around the crash).
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44576
--- Comment #5 from Robod winehq@robod.net --- Interesting. After I've installed corefonts as Louis suggested it behaves differently. Not sure if that's the reason or I'm doing something else. It was complaining about pkcs11 and winbind, so I've installed them both. Now the Origin client installation starts, it looks like it's downloading or installing something (bar is travelling across the screen) and then is says "Something went wrong. Please contact support".
I've attached a log file with all the messages.
