I then retried the quicktax 2002 exe as before and was much encouraged that, this time, there was no crash and it actually displayed the main quicktax panel. Wow!
But then it froze. mouse clicks on buttons did nothing, and after moving to another window, on trying to return to quicktax, it did not re-display. Completely gone. However the exe was still running according to ps abnd no crash messages in the wine.log.
Any suggestions how to pursue/debug this from here?
BTW I see that, with this wine 050930 and starting with fresh .wine, there is no longer a .wine/config. I see that is mentioned elsewhere. The new winecfg does not cover all the things I used to be able to put in config. In particular the windows PATH - How do I specify that? Also the new wine no longer accepts the --debugmsg option - how do I get that debugging now?
