when trying to run rise of legends, the application crashes and an error message is displayed. the messages displayed when running through the terminal are attached.

You probably need to install wmp9/10 from winetricks.

This crash, which comes from installing the native DirectX 9 redist, was fixed sometime ago. You shouldn't install the redist in general unless you have a good specific reason.

unfortunately the game automatically installed the native directX. any idea how I can reinstall the wine version?

This is a crash within your graphics driver and not a Wine bug. Please report this to your distribution.
