Summary: MS-FS95: Crashes onLoad Product: Wine Version: 1.1.13 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: normandy@web.de
Created an attachment (id=18976) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=18976) Logfile using +seh
Microsofts Flight Simulator 95 often crashes when loading a flight and trying to start it and segfaults. All builtin dlls, here's a normal log only with +seh, because relay log is quite big.
It installed just fine, but when I click "Surprise Flight"(?) or "Quick Flight", game crashes.

--- Comment #2 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr 2009-01-25 04:28:46 --- The usual questions: Does there exist a demo of this game? If yes, does the problem occur in the demo?
Please attach also a console output without any debug channel.

--- Comment #3 from John Haywards normandy@web.de 2009-01-25 04:45:34 --- Sorry, I don't know a demo... Here's a +all logfile: (2.1MB/340MB) http://tinyurl.com/ane5hj
-- I found the "Load predefined flight" - "Approaching Oakland 27R" in a C182 the only chance to get ingame/to "preferences" menu. As soon as I change the outside view or back, there's a big chance for the game to crash :(

--- Comment #4 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2009-01-25 05:47:07 --- (Had to change the mime type of that log to binary to get download to work.)
Looks like it crashes shortly after reading a data file:

You might install the game on windows and make sure that data file is identical between the two platforms.

--- Comment #5 from John Haywards normandy@web.de 2009-01-25 06:04:33 --- The file is copied directly from cd, files match perfectly. Windows file identical, too.

--- Comment #10 from S.M.E. ernestopheles@googlemail.com 2011-01-12 14:10:15 CST --- Yes, it is. Wine 1.3.8 (openSUSE build service, stable). Unpredictable crashes on start-up until loading a flight. Once an airplane is on a runway, the program becomes kind of stable.
Besides, crashes with almost identical segfaults also occurs mid-game while doing rather unusual quick flight maneuvers, like a sudden steep dive ... Well, this may not be related, but if you fly in a way that your passengers would not have to puke, those mid-game crashes are rare. Maybe it's not a bug, just a feature ... but I do not remember them from Windows 95.

Is this still an issue in wine version 1.6-rc4 or higher or is this to be closed as abandoned ?
