To clarify what I wrote earlier:
After clicking the red "X" button in the lower right corner of the screen, a "New turn" dialog appears. Actually the "headquaters" view should disappear at this point and a "terrain" or "battle" view with units on them etc. should be visible at the background.
The "hang" described earlier happens when you click the "tick" button in the "new turn" dialog.
The display "hang" is not... "complete" (for the lack of better world). Although very difficult to reproduce, I was able to trigger brightness changes with some clicks (it could be with some scenario etc. but it was difficult anyway). That's when the game displays some dialog (it was actually displayed iirc). So the problem seems to be related to the 3d "terrain" view.
