HEllo,
I am a total noob. I don't know what a full console log is. I tried to remove this program with the "uninstall program" It wouldn't remove it from the computer. I then tried to remove uninstall wine. It didn't uninstall, so I got scared and reinstalled the entire OS again.
This was probably unnecessary, but I didn't know what to do.
What is the next step to have another go at this?

Hello Steven,
I tried Wine myself but I used Ubuntu on a virtual machine on XP host. I ran into some problems. You may try. However you must understand that the Management by Statistics program is a 16 bit programs and uses the WIN.INI file. It also include 3 dlls files into the WINDOWS folder as well as one more in the SYSTEM or SYSTEM32 folder. Time only prevented me from further researching into debugging that issue. I know other people were able to run 16 bit program with Wine. I saw their recommendation but haven’t got time to browse through them to find the fix I needed in order to run the Management by Statistics program in Wine.
If you want to do the research here is what you need to now. The Management by Statistics program installs in three places:
C:\STATSWIN\ is where the program is installed by default.
Those files are installed in the WINDOWS and SYSTEM folder:
C:\WINDOWS\MBSW.INI
C:\WINDOWS\MBSXXX.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\PXENGWIN.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\BWCC.DLL (Note: this file sometime is installed in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\BWCC.DLL
And the WIN.INI will contain those extra lines:
[Paradox Engine]
UserName=Mgmt by Stats
NetNamePath=C:\STATSWIN\DATA
NetType=5
ShareLocal=Yes
MaxTables=50
MaxLocks=30
MaxFiles=60
RecBufs=50
SwapSize=256
That’s all there is to know if you use WINE.

Try verifying that it installed correctly, as their tech support showed you?

--- Comment #11 from Steven sasciame@yahoo.com 2009-05-21 09:48:01 --- I verified that Management by Statistics installed correctly. The error message says there may be a problem with WINE. I installed it (WINE) twice and got the same problem both times though.

--- Comment #13 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2010-03-11 17:21:22 --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 8 months. Is this still an issue in current (1.1.40 or newer) wine?

Have you tried it in the latest version of WINE? I gave up awhile back, but would love to get it working. Have you contacted mastertech? Maybe you will have better luck than me.

Is this still an issue in current (1.7.6 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.6 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).
