--- Comment #2 from 13964791@student.curtin.edu.au 2010-06-28 09:54:52 --- Created an attachment (id=29214) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=29214) Terminal output from running 'wine Entropia.exe -run'
i asked on #winehq, and i've been told not to worry about the error message about not being able to display, and their being a problem with $DISPLAY, so dont worry about that.

--- Comment #3 from 13964791@student.curtin.edu.au 2010-06-28 09:57:21 --- I've retested this bug on 1.2-rc5 and it still happens. (this time without more terminal output), i updated the bug to show this new wine version.
I've attached the output above, note that the output might not be complete. the Debug has been going for 3 hours, and has not completed yet, so i made a copy of what has been printed so far and attached it. i will let it finish and then post that above too. ...i hope there isnt an infinite loop somewhere :=/

...i updated the bug to show this new wine version.
Please don't do this, if your bug is not valid regression. Leaving comment is enough.

--- Comment #5 from 13964791@student.curtin.edu.au 2010-07-11 18:57:24 --- another user (AH) has managed to get Entropia to run using without a stack overflow using the -run command line argument to start the Entropia.exe file.
AH did not leave info about what hardware his pc has, however the pc i tested Entropia on when i got the stack overflow was FAR below the minimum system requirements of the game...
My System: Nvidia 7600 GS Pentium 4 2.8GHZ 768MB ddr 333 ram
Sys Requirements for Entropia (https://account.entropiauniverse.com/support-faq/technical-issues-1/system-r...): NVIDIA GeForce 7800 or Better Pentium 4 2.8g or Better 2048 MB RAM or Better
this may have caused the stack overflow.
also, ive installed Win 7 on this same pc, and tested Entropia on Win 7. Entropia runs on Win 7 but extremely badly (no textures, 20 fps, nearly all avatars are missing in the world etc.). With the extra overhead Wine has, its no surprise Entropia wont run on Linux.

--- Comment #6 from 13964791@student.curtin.edu.au 2010-07-20 08:54:43 --- i've retested Entropia on a new pc, which DOES meet the system requirements for the game (ive got 2gig of ram, athlon 64 2800+, 6800 gt).
Entropia now starts, there is no stack overflow.
so i guess the cause of the stack overflow my older pc's lack of ram.
problem solved =)
