I was testing RealPlayer 11, and I didn't expect it to work because previous tries on older versions of WINE had failed up til now. The program will start and display itself, but trying to do almost anything in it will result in the following error.
Runtime Error!
C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlay.exe
Abnormal Program Termination
I know I'm not the only one that has had issues with the Visual C++ Runtime Library, but I couldn't find a program that was exactly like my case so I posted this bug.
I really don't understand how Visual C++ works, so I can't say I'll be much more help other than to run tests.
My WINE version is 0.9.59

I should have installed the .NET 2.0 framework first, THEN tried it. When I tell WINE to restart, it tries to start mscorsvw.exe. This tries to utlize MSVCR80.dll which doesn't work out. Instead, I get this.
err:module:attach_process_dlls "MSVCR80.dll" failed to initialize, aborting err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorsvw.exe" failed, status c0000142
I guess it'd be a good idea to wait until support for .NET improves before testing this program again, since it is currently running on about 10 DLL overrides to start it, and most of the program is reliant on visual studio programming.
At least I've figured out how to start RealPlayer 11, which it wouldn't do before.

--- Comment #2 from Justin Soulia rockinup1231@gmail.com 2008-06-01 18:59:04 --- I tried to reinstall the .NET 2.0 framework later on after this, then run RealPlayer 11 again. Same issue, but only because WINE lacks proper .NET support.
Nothing that can be done to fix it for the time being.
