Summary: OLE error 80004002 Product: Wine Version: 0.9.61. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: ole AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: t.hirsch@web.de
Application is Fugawi 4.5. I had to override gdiplus.dll (-> native only), because of a lot of "Access violation" windows. The application makes use of a lot of custom graphics, so I think this one little override should be okay.
But I get an error window when importing maps (which is pretty essetial, because Fugawi's main purpose it to display maps). Scanning for map files is the last operation that works fine. A list of maps is shown. Then, in the next operation, Fugawi tries to analyze/import the scanned map files. I think it also wants to copy the files into another directory (yes, the current user is able to write into that directory). Right after the very last map (no matter which one), en error window says "OLE error 80004002". None of the maps have been imported. Here's what wine tells me in the terminal:
fixme:ntdll:NtQuerySystemInformation info_class SYSTEM_PROCESSOR_PERFORMANCE_INFORMATION fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32f810,0x00000000), stub! fixme:ntdll:NtQuerySystemInformation info_class SYSTEM_PROCESSOR_PERFORMANCE_INFORMATION fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000500 fixme:htmlhelp:HtmlHelpW HH case HH_CLOSE_ALL not handled. fixme:msxml:DllCanUnloadNow

--- Comment #2 from Thorsten Hirsch t.hirsch@web.de 2008-05-12 17:54:08 --- Yes, the demo has exactly the same problem. So for you to re-produce the error, follow these steps:
1.) download and install fugawi4514_demo.exe 2.) override gdiplus.dll to be native-only 3.) start fugawi 4.) choose demo marine emc 5a.) import some maps (if you've got some) under ->maps ->install maps - or - 5b.) just close the application with ->file ->exit
In both cases you should see the OLE error 80004002.

--- Comment #6 from Rob Shearman robertshearman@gmail.com 2008-06-01 11:41:08 --- You need to figure out which component is returning E_NOINTERFACE to the application. You can do this by turning on debug logging. I would suggest +ole,+msxml first.

Note that when connections are between 1 and 9, I never got this.

Fugawi needs the Msxml2.DOMDocument.4.0 interface which is implemented in msxml4.dll which WINE currently doesn't have.
Yesterday I tried to find some info on this interface, I don't see it's documented - does it provide the same IXMLDOMNode and friends? And what is the purpose of having another way to create this?

--- Comment #17 from Alistair Leslie-Hughes leslie_alistair@hotmail.com 2010-01-11 05:05:24 --- The easiest way learn about these interfaces is to download the MSXML 4.0 SDK.
