Summary: Adobe Acrobat Professional 6 fails to install Product: Wine Version: 0.9.54. Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jens@porup.com
after computing space requirements, selecting language, typing in the serial number, selecting custom/full install, and destination folder, setup just... dies.
quite a few fixme errors hit the console, followed by these three error messages:
err:msi:HANDLE_CustomType23 Source package does not exist: L"D:\Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional\\Adobe Reader 6.0.msi" err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"InstallReader" returned 1627 err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"ExecuteAction" returned 1627
I am still attempting to generate a WINEDEBUG log, if anyone can suggest a more narrowly targeted flag rather than +relay please let me know, it takes *ages* for this process to work when debugging...

--- Comment #1 from James Hawkins truiken@gmail.com 2008-02-08 15:34:54 --- Not a blocker. +msi,+msidb is the log you want. Where is the file in question (Adobe Reader 6.0.msi)?

all the files are on the install CD. I've installed this (legal) copy of Adobe Pro 6 on Windows without difficulty, so I'm not sure why it can't find the file.
the +msi switch was much faster, will post the last 100 lines of the log in just a sec. (do I need to run both the +msi and +msidb flags?)

That's not what I asked. I asked *where* the file is on the CD directory structure.

Yes you need both flags, and you need to attach the entire log. The last 100 lines will be useless.

--- Comment #6 from foobard jens@porup.com 2008-02-08 15:50:52 --- OK, log output attached now.
here's the complete path in Linux when the CD is mounted:
/media/AcrobatPro6/Adobe Reader 6.0/Installer/Adobe Reader 6.0.msi

--- Comment #7 from James Hawkins truiken@gmail.com 2008-02-08 23:46:25 --- That log isn't a +msi,+msidb log. You forgot a comma between the log channels. Don't worry about it though, I already have a test and a fix ready.

Well, better late than never. Here's the 30M log file for +msi, msidb for this bug. Might be useful, never know.
Thanks for your help.
ps it looks like the file size limit is 1M, I had to delete well over 500,000 lines of the debug file in order for it to upload correctly.

--- Comment #9 from James Hawkins truiken@gmail.com 2008-02-09 14:42:33 --- I just said in comment #7 that I don't need the log and that I already have a fix to send in. For future reference, 'cut' logs are useless.

--- Comment #10 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-02-11 13:56:09 --- In the future, compress the file using bzip2 -9 (rzip/lrzip also compress well, but aren't as popular).
