Summary: Adobe Dreamweaver refuses to run on ubuntu 9.10 x64 with any WINE version tried Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: 133794m3r@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=26620) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=26620) terminal output from running dreamweaver.exe in ubuntu 9.10 x86-64 with WINE 1.1.34
I've tried using 1.1.34, 1.1.39 and neither one is working. 1.1.15 is, however, working for the install. I've tried taking the literal dlls from my own windows 7 install, i've also tried following everything else that others have said to do but it just refuses to run. I am currently using the trial download that they offer you on their home page. It's refusing to run and just shows a ie window and it says "server not found" then when i close that window dreamweaver just dies. Attached is the entire log of the file starting up taken from my terminal, i guess i'm going to go back to windows and not be able to move over to ubuntu as i was hoping.

err:module:attach_process_dlls "odbc32.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
Please use latest (wine-1.1.39) Wine version when attaching logs. That dll is implemented in Wine for some time.
Try using native odbc32.dll. Also try registering native dll.

--- Comment #2 from Macarthur 133794m3r@gmail.com 2010-03-05 19:45:26 --- i did use 1.1.39 a little while ago, and i'll go grab my dll from my windows 7 install, i hope it hasn't changed since xp.

No, this won't work. You need 32-bit version, you have to set it to native in winecfg and register with 'regsvr32 obdc32.dll'.

Well then, we have a very nice problem. AS i do not, have a 32 bit version of windows to go use. And also downloading random dlls from the internet does not allow me to choose what happens. So then i guess i have nothing to do but to attempt to do but to find my old XP sp3 cd wherever that is and install it on a VM.

--- Comment #8 from Macarthur 133794m3r@gmail.com 2010-03-06 00:44:24 --- now what do you mean "register with regsrv32 odbc32.dll"? B/c i found my old desktop which my grandparents occassionaly use, and i hadn't deleted the windows.old folder so i still have all of the windows vista items. I have went into winecfg and set odbcd32 to native(windows). So what's this register with regsvr32 thing that your'e talking about. As i did not see it in winecfg. Do you mean changing the wine source? Or is there some other way to change how reserver works?

and also it seems to load just fine for me when i click on the link for it. It shows up as plain text in firefox.
