Fullscreen game windows (from games such as Warcraft III) are cropped by the GNOME menu and tasklist panels.
For example, in Warcraft III, if my desktop resolution is set to 1920x1200 with a 24-pixel panel at the top and bottom of the screen, and I set the game resolution to 1920x1200, the window will be created with a size of 1920x1152, but the game still thinks it has the full 1920x1200 to work with.
The window should fill the entire screen when set for fullscreen. This was introduced in wine 1.1.4 and continued in 1.1.5. Wine 1.1.3 and 1.0 do not exhibit this problem.

Does the latest GIT work for you?
Otherwise explain more about your setup and please do a regression test.

Regression is somewhere between 1.1.5 and 20080610, or self-compilation can be also a problem.

That patch can't be the source of the regression reported in this bug since the patch has been introduced only in 1.1.6.

Then your problem is a different one, probably the same as in the bug 15598.
The regression test should still be performed by the original bug reporter.
