Summary: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat Benchmark requires d3dx9_31.dll and d3dx9_42.dll to run Product: Wine Version: 1.3.5 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: shannon.vanwagner@gmail.com
The game would launch to a black screen, then by using alt+tab to the error dialog, and alt+space to set the error dialog to "always on top", the error says "Your video card doesn't meet game requirements. Try to lower game settings", even though I ran it at lowest settings.
winetricks d3dx9_31 d3dx9_42 works around the problem
Note: you may need to get the latest winetricks from http://winezeug.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/winetricks

--- Comment #1 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr 2010-10-23 22:41:17 CDT --- On a fresh .wine folder, is it enough to put a native d3dx9_36 dll in the folder .wine/drive_c/windows/system32 ?

--- Comment #5 from Andrey Gusev andrey.goosev@gmail.com 2013-08-30 07:58:49 CDT --- Created attachment 45784 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=45784 log
After installing in a clean wineprefix I did next, set d3d11 to disable, because it crashes with Unimplemented function d3d11.dll.D3D11CreateDeviceAndSwapChain Then run benchmark. Default settings are Preset: Medium; Render: Enhanced full dynamic lighting
It's also gives an error: "Your video card doesn't meet game requirements. Try to lower game settings.", so I tried to run with Full dynamic lighting, again the same error message. Tried with Objects dynamic lighting, and nothing changes. Only with Static lighting can launch a benchmark with no overrides.
d3dx log give
trace:d3dx:D3DXGetPixelShaderProfile device 0x1992a68 trace:d3dx:D3DXCompileShader data 0x33de70, length 168, defines 0x33cf98, include 0x33ce68, function main, profile ps_3_0, flags 0x10009, shader 0x33ce50, error_msgs 0x33ce5c, constant_table 0x33ce6c
think this is a direction for d3dx9_36, but benchmark really required d3dx9_31 and d3dx9_42

--- Comment #17 from winetest@luukku.com --- I didnt disable dx11 renderer as suggested some old comment, tried to run all default. It gives a popup that it compiles shaders that it may take time.
I get a message
"Your video card doesn't meet game requirements"
wine 2.0rc5. I quess this bug needs at least better working shader compiler.
